Resul Pookutty born in May 30, 1971 in Vilakkupara, Kollam, Kerala (India), is an Indian film sound designer, sound editor and mixer. Resul is married to Shadia and together they have a son Rayan and a daughter, Salna. Resul made his debut in sound design with the 1997 film private detective: two plus two plus one. Resul has given his remarkable contribution to a number of successful Indian films like black, Musafir, Zinda, Traffic signal, Gandhi - My Father, Saawariya and Dus Kahaniyaan. Resul`s work has earned him several awards including the 2009 academy award (oscar) and bafta film award for best achievement in sound mixing for slumdog millionaire. In 2010, he was awarded the national film award for the best audiography for his work in Pazhassi Raja. In the same year, Resul was awarded with the Padma Shri by the government of India. His other releases include Praana (2018), Oththa Seruppu Size 7 (2019), Trance (2020) and Haathi Mere Saathi (2021).
