Born and raised in London, Reza Safinia is a music composer and producer who is noted for his work in Hollywood cinema and American TV industry. A former songwriter and record producer, Safinia, before venturing into the film industry worked with Universal Music where he worked with renowned artists like Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears. The co-founder of UK indie label Illa State Records, Safinia is considered to be the pioneers of UK urban music, meshing hip-hop and electronic. Having made his debut as a composer with Who Is A.B.? (2001), he subsequently composed music for films like Filly Brown (2012), Enter the Dangerous Mind (2013), The Trust (2016) and Birth of the Dragon, a martial arts action film directed by George Nolfi. The film, which was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016, released in the theaters in August 2017. Apart from films, Safinia has also composed for several TV series and short films including Conflict (2015), a TV mini-series documentary, and Vital Signs (2016).
