Ritu Varma is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in Telugu movies. The actress is popularly known for her terrific performance in the short film Anukokunda.
Early Life
Ritu was born and brought up in Hyderabad and completed her entire education there. After graduating in engineering, she entered in the Dabur Gulabari Miss Rose Glow Pageant. Ritu finished as the first runner-up at the event.
Movie Career
Ritu gained recognition in the industry with her performance in the short film Anukokunda. The movie went on to win the Best Film Award at the 48HR Film Project competition in 2012. She also won the Best Actor award at the same festival and the movie was later screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013 in the Cannes Short Film Corner section. It was her superlative performance in Anukokunda that paved the way for her acting career in the Telugu film industry.
In 2013, the actress first appeared in a minor role in the Telugu movie
Baadshah and then she bagged her first lead role in the Telugu movie
Prema Ishq Kaadhal. She essayed the role of a costume designer opposite Shree Vishnu. The actress followed this up with the movie
Naa Rakumarudu, which was released in 2014. Ritu was next seen in the movie
Yevade Subramanya, which is the first Indian movie to be shot at the Everest Base Camp. Ritu was nominated for the Best Supporting Role at the IIFA Utsavam for her performance in the movie. Her 2016 credits include two Tamil movies, China - her debut in the Tamil film industry - and Pirai Thaediya Naatkal, and a Telugu movie
Pellichoopulu. Her 2020 release includes Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal. His 2021 releases include Ninnila Ninnila, Tuck Jagadish and Varudu Kaavalenu. HIs other notable works include Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022),
