Prassanna is a performer and practitioner of Dhrupad and a disciple of Maestro Pt. Uday Bhawalkar. He is a senior performing scholar of the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy Kolkata and has many Dhrupad performances in India and abroad to his credit. He has accompanied his Guru at the Salzburg Music Festival Austria and assisted him in various workshops and concerts.

Prassanna has scored music and sung for many documentaries, television, promos and films like Talaash, Raees, The Anupam Kher Show to name a few. He has received the Young Achievers Award by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis in recognition of his achievement as a Dhrupad Vocalist.
