About
Filmmaker and screenwriter Rob Letterman made his Hollywood debut by co-writing and co-directing the computer-animated comedy film Shark Tale (2004), and has since been primarily been associated with animated and live action movies. His sophomore directorial outing, the computer-animated sci-fi comedy Monsters vs. Aliens (2009), was a critical and commercial success which grossed over $381 million at the box office.
The fantasy adventure comedy Gulliver`s Travels (2010) was Letterman`s first foray out of the animation genre, and the film was a hit despite the poor critical reception. In 2015, the filmmaker helmed the horror comedy Goosebumps, which starred Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush and Amy Ryan in central roles.
In 2019, Letterman co-wrote and directed the fantasy mystery Pokemon Detective Pikachu, which featured Ryan Reynolds in the titular role.
