Filmmaker and producer Rucha Humnabadkar started out as an assistant and art director, working in the Nagesh Kukunoor films Hyderabad Blues (1998), Rockford (1999) and Bollywood Calling (2001) early on in her career. In 2015, Rucha made her independent directorial debut with the acclaimed comedy-drama film For Here or to Go?, which dealt with the travails of immigrants in America and starred Ali Fazal and Melanie Kannokada in the lead roles.
