Rukhsar Rehman`s first encounter with acting was when she was only 17 years old when she played the lead role in the Bollywood romantic drama Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (1992). After starring opposite Rishi Kapoor in Inteha Pyar Ki, she left the career and returned to it only in 2005. She made her comeback through a role in Ram Gopal Varma`s D which was followed by Sarkar, another of Varma`s films. Thereafter she played roles in several films over the years, including God Tussi Great Ho (2008), The Stoneman Murders (2009), Shaitan (2011), and PK (2014). Her television credits include Kuch Toh Log Kahenge (2011-13) and Tumhari Paakhi (2013-14). In 2017 she worked in Take Off, a critically acclaimed Malayali film. She has also appeared in several commercials for clients like Asian Paints and Saffola Salt. Her 2019 releases include the Emraan Hashmi starrer The Body. Her other notbale works include 83 (2021) and Khuda Haafiz 2 (2022).
