Rupert William Anthony Friend is an English actor, screenwriter, director and producer. Friend received his professional acting training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He made his acting debut as Billy Downs in the film The Libertine (2004). He won Satellite Awards for Outstanding New Talent (2005). He founded his own production company called Beat Pictures, and he made his first directorial debut with a short film called Steve (2010), in addition to directing, he also wrote and produced the film, which was later included in the compilation Stars in Shorts (2012). He currently plays a major role as Peter Quinn in the multiple award-winning political drama series Homeland (2012-present). His notable film credits include Hitman: Agent 47 (2015), To Write Love on Her Arms (2015), A Simple Favor (2018), The French Dispatch (2021), Infinite (2021), and Separation (2021). His upcoming movies include Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025), The Phoenician Scheme (2025), and Companion (2025).
