Award-winning writer Sachin Bhowmick was associated with close to 100 movies in his three-decade-long career, having made his debut in 1958 with the Nargis-starrer Lajwanti. He then went on to be associated with movies such as Anuradha, Chhaya, Love in Tokyo, and An Evening in Paris before winning the Filmfare Award for Best Story for Brahmachari in 1968.
The notable writer then went on to work on hit movies from the 70s and 80s such as Khel Khel Mein, Gol Maal, Karz, Karma, and Thillu Mullu. Extending his work to the 90s, Sachin developed scripts for Karan Arjun, Koyla, Soldier, and Taal, with also recent movies such as Koi Mil Gaya, Kisna, and Krrish to his credit. The renowned writer and regular contributor to the Bengali magazine Ultorath passed away on the 12th of April, 2011 at the age of 80, leaving behind some memorable work in the history of Indian, mainly Hindi, cinema.
