C. Dhinakaran, popularly known as Sakthi Chidambaram, is a writer-director and actor who is primarily known for his work in Tamil cinema. Since his directorial debut with the 1997 crime thriller Samrat, he has directed over a dozen movies in Kollywood, mainly in the comedy genre. The filmmaker is perhaps best known for helming the hit comedy Charlie Chaplin (2002) starring Prabhu Ganesan and Prabhu Deva, which he also wrote.

Other notable directorial credits include Englishkaran (2005), the action film Rajadhi Raja (2009) and Guru Sishyan (2010). In 2019, Chidambaram wrote and directed the comedy Charlie Chaplin 2, which was a sequel to the 2002 film of the same name.
