Cricketer-turned-actor, Salil Ankola is known for his work in the Hindi film and television industries. A promising cricketer, Salil had to prematurely retire from the game at the age of 28 owing to a bone tumor in his left shin bone. After his retirement from cricket, he ventured into acting and made his television debut in 1998 with the TV show Chahat Aur Nafrat. Although he made his feature debut in 2000 with the movie Kurukshetra, Salil has predominantly appeared on TV shows with roles in Karam Apna Apna, Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Kehta Hai Dil, and Pyar Ka Bandhan. His film credits include Pitaah (2002), Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (2003), and the internationally acclaimed film Riwayat (2012). In 2017, Salil appeared in the movie Tera Intezaar directed by Rajeev Walia. His 2019 release includes Ekta, directed by Suman Reddy.
