A commerce graduate by qualification, Samina Peerzada is a popular Pakistan film and television actress. She started her acting career in 1983 with television drama Darya. And, since then she has been very active in the Pakistani television industry with more than 50 shows to her credit. Some of her notable TV shows are Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan (2009), Dastaan (2010), Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Durr-e-Shahwar (2012), and Rehaai (2013). And her notable films are Shaadi Mere Shohar Ki (1986), Mukhra, Bazar-e-Husn (1988), Bulandi (1990), and Nazdikiyan (1991). She made her directorial debut with Inteha (1999). It focused on the social issue of marital rape and was critically acclaimed winning nine national awards. In 2013, she was conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Beyond the Mango Film Festival. Her 2018 projects include The Valley, her first Hollywood film.
