Needing a break from being a journalist, Sanjana Reddy landed at Ram Gopal Varma's office one day and was offered to assist him on the movie Rowdy. She then joined producer Anil Sunkar's production house AK Entertainment in the capacity of an AD, however, the movie offered was shelved. Making her debut as a director and writer, Sanjana was associated with the Raj Tarun and Amyra Dastur-starrer Rajugadu.
