A writer, director, and an actor, Sanjeev Puri is a versatile artist who primarily works in Hindi cinema. Sanjeev started his career in the film industry as an actor and his maiden appearance on the silver screen with the critically acclaimed film Gandhi in 1982. He later starred in Nirmaan (1987) before eventually becoming a writer and director.

Sanjeev's maiden film as a writer was the Bollywood film Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (2002). Over the years, he has written for several feature films including a few commercially successful ones like Aan: Men at Work (2004). His 2018 release includes Baa Baaa Black Sheep (2018), a Hindi comedy featuring an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, and Kay Kay Menon. Apart from being a writer and an actor, Sanjeev has also directed a film titled Agni Pankh in 2004.
