Sanjeev made his acting debut in Kulir 100 where he played the son of a local gangster. The film got a lukewarm response from the audience and was declared as a flop. He then went on to act in a few more films that were made on a shoestring budget like Kadhal Thozhi (2009), Neeyum Naanum (2010), Saghakkal (2011), Kurumbukkara Pasanga, Nanbargal Kavanathirku (2013), Uyirukku Uyiraaga (2014) and Aangila Padam (2017). None of the films were able to give him the breakthrough that he needed. In 2017, he appeared in Star Vijay's soap opera titled Raja Rani which was the remake of Bengali television series 'Ke Apon Ke Por'. The show gave him a statewide recognition. His 2018 projects include 6 Athiyayam.
