Hailing from West Bengal, India, film actor Santilal Mukherjee has predominantly worked in Bengali and Hindi film industry. Since making his acting debut in Red Door in 1997, he has become a household name in Bengali film industry. Some of his notable works include Dai Daitya (1999), Badsha: The King (2004), Dus Din Pore (2007), Kaler Rakhal (2009) and Moner Manush (2010).

Mukherjee, then, made his Bollywood debut in Indian suspense thriller Kahaani (2012). The film, starring Vidhya Balan, was a commercial as well as a critical hit. He has also starred in Hindi films like Byomkesh Bakshi (2015), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) and Pari (2018). His other project includes Indias Most Wanted (2019).
