A practicing pediatrician, Dr. Santwana Bardoloi is an Indian actor and director known for her work in Assamese cinema. A renowned radio and theatre personality, Bardoloi directed her maiden movie in 1996 titled Adajya. Based on a novel written by Mamoni Roisom Goswami, the movie opened to critical acclaim it won the Silver Lotus at the National Film Awards and was screened at several international film festivals as well.

More than two decades later, Bardoloi directed her second movie Maj Rati Keteki starring Adil Hussain, Shakil Imtiaz, Mahendra Rabha, and Sulakshana Baruah.
