Best known for her brilliant performance in the Malayalam film, Kappal Muthalaali, Sarayu is an Indian actress who mainly works in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Having started her acting career with Chakkara Muthu in 2006, initially, the actress appeared mostly in small and supporting roles. She got her big break with Kappal Muthalaali (2009), which was also her maiden film in the lead role. Her role as `Radhika` was well received by both the critics and the audience and she won wide appreciation for it. The movie also got her noticed among many directors and she started receiving many offers.

Post-2009, the actress has starred in more than 30 films. Some of her notable credits include Kanyakumar Express (2010), Housefull (2013), Salt Mango Tree (2015), Sherlock Toms (2017) and Marubhoomiyile Mazhathullikal (2018), a Malayalam drama directed by Anil Karakkulam.
