Saul Chaplin is an American composer and music director known for his multifarious score style. He started his career with stage shows and since then he composed albums for films and television. He has worked with MGM, Universal Pictures and Columbia Pictures for films like Cover Girl, High Society (1956) and Merry Andrew (1958) . He received three Academy Awards for his scores for An American in Paris, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and West Side Story. He died on on November 15 1997.
