Best-known his collaboration with American music composer Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman is an American director, writer, and lyricist, working on Television, Broadway and concerts. After graduating in musical theatre, he debuted as an director for a Greenwich Village, where he first met his future collaborator Shaiman and worked on some of the award-winning musicals, including Hairspray (2007), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical (2011), Catch Me If You Can (musical) (2011) and Bombshell (2013). His other projects include Rob Marshall`s sequel to the 1964 release Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns (2018), which earned him a nomination for Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song "The Place Where Lost Things Go".
