A Cuban-born American actress, Selenis Leyva is best known for role as Gloria Mendoza in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black (2013). Her brilliant performance in the series not only won her critical acclaim but also won her many laurels including ALMA Award for Outstanding Special Achievement in Television and Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The actress who started her acting career with the TV series Law & Order (1999), went on to star in several series’ including The Sopranos (2006), Law & Order (2010), Blue Bloods (2011-12), Elementary (2012) and Veep (2015). After establishing herself as an accomplished in TV, the actress made her debut on the silver screen with Debutante (2000). Her other notable films include Maria Full of Grace (2004), Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012), Custody (2016), and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), an action adventure sci-fi film directed by Jon Watts.
