Shakib Khan is a National Award winning Bangladeshi film actor. Born in Narayanganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh, his father, Abdur Rab worked as a Government servant, which caused his family to relocate several times. Having made his debut in 1999, with the movie Anontho Bhalobasha, fame and success followed him and he went on to establish himself as a leading actor in the industry. Throughout his career, Shakib has earned several awards, including two National Film Awards for Best Actor for his 2010 movie titled Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na and for his 2012 movie titled Khodar Pore Ma. He has also won the Meril Prothom Alo Awards on eight different occasions. In 2011, Shakib Khan was appointed as the President of the Film Artist Association and has held the designation ever since. In 2016, he starred in the movie Shikari, where he was paired opposite his spouse Apu Biswas. The movie was declared a commercial success. His 2017 release includes the romantic thriller, Nabab. Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, the movie along with Shakib stars Subhasree Ganguly in the lead. He is associated with the 2018 Bengali romantic comedy Chalbaaz directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. He is associated with the 2018 Bengali action-adventure-comedy Bhaijaan Elo Re directed by Joydeep Mukherjee and Naqaab directed by Rajiv Kumar.
