Shakuntala Barua is a Indian actress and playback singer born in Kolkata, who is mainly known for her work in the Bengali film industry. She made her acting debut in 1973 with Anutap. Over the years Barua has been known for her performance in movies like Sandhya Raag (1977), Saheb (1981), Dhusar Godhuli (1994), Shesh Thikana (2000), Pitribhumi (2007), Moner Ajante (2009), Aami Montri Hobo (2011), Alik Sukh - A tale of fleeting happiness (2013) and Chaap - The Pressure (2013). In 2017 Shakuntala Barua starred in Sanjay Guha`s Sedin Basante. The cast also includes Indrani Dutta, Kaushik Sen and Debdut Ghosh in prominent roles. She starred in Partha Sarathi Manna`s Oskar in the year 2018. Her 2019 release includes Jete Nahi Dibo.
