Popular for her work in Kannada cinema, Shamitha Maland is an Indian playback singer, and also an anchor, dentist, dubbing and voice artist. Disciple of Hindustani music maestro Late Pandit Sheshadri Gawai, one of Shamitha's most popular songs is 'Shukriya Shukriya' from the 2002 movie Ninagaagi, in collaboration with music director Gurukiran. She has recorded songs in several movies with the best music directors in the industry such as Hamsalekha, Mano Murthy, Sadhu Kokila, R. P. Patnaik, Arjun Janya, K. Kalyan, Sandeep Chowta, V. Manohar and Yuvan Shankar Raja. Not only this, the song titled 'Madhura Pisumaatige' from the movie Birugaali is one of her biggest hits, which won her several awards like Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer - Kannada, Suvarna Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer and South Scope Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer, all in 2009. She has lent her voice for songs in director K. Ram Narayan's 2017 Kannada movie Krack for the song titled 'Ondhu Sundara Sanje'. She is also one of the music directors of the film along with S. Chinna.
