About
Shan Vincent De Paul (SVDP) is an award winning rapper/director based out of Toronto. He released his debut album 'Saviors' in 2016 which was met with critical acclaim with the album nominated for 'Best Rap Album', and won 'Best Rap Song' at the 2016 Independent Music Awards in New York. In 2018, Shan released his sophomore project 'Trigger Happy Heartbreak which garnered millions of plays across streaming platforms and also solidified SVDP as a keen director with his 'Bitch Go' video. After a slew of singles and self-directed videos, SVDP released his most recent project 'SVDP-2', a mixtape that fully displays his versatile songwriting and razor sharp rapping.

Along with the mixtape, Shan Vincent De Paul has also introduced the 'Mrithangam Raps' series. A collaboration with fellow Toronto Tamil artist Yanchan. The series features Yanchan on the Mrithangam and SVDP rapping over it in complete synchronicity. The series quickly became viral and was featured in Rolling Stone India, The Hindu, Times Of India, CBC and garnered millions of views. The series has come to be referenced as the genesis of Carnatic rap, an entirely new fusion of classical eastern instruments with western influenced rap.

Shan will be touring India in February along with Yanchan, performing at festivals and venues around the country. He will be touching down at Chennai, a city close to his heart with a live performance at the Bay146 Mainstage on the 29th of February.
