Shane Connaughton was born on 1947 in Redhills, Co. Cavan, Ireland, is an Irish writer and actor who is known for Academy Award-nominated screenplay for My Left Foot. He began his career as actor for TV series Coronation Street in 1970 and wrote his first script for the TV episodes Six Days of Justice in 1973. Shane as a credit of over thirty works for his screenplay and actor. He is also known for his works My Left Foot (1989), The Run of the Country (1995), The Playboys (1992), The Blackwater Lightship (2004).
