Shane Smith is a Canadian Primetime Emmy Award-winning producer, writer, director and journalist. He, along with Suroosh Alvi and Gavin McInnes were the co-founders of the international media company VICE Media and have produced several documentaries together. He along with Bill Maher, Eddy Moretti, Bradley J. Levin, Jedd Thomas and Jonah Kaplan won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series or Special for the news-documentary Vice (2013– ). Smith’s other works as a producer include documentaries like Hamilton's Pharmacopeia: The Sapo Diaries (2009), The Ride (2010), Lil Bub & Friendz (2013), Inside the Superhuman World of the Iceman (2015), Author: The JT LeRoy Story (2016), States of Undress (2016–2017), Black Market with Michael K. Williams (2016– ), Terror (2016– ), Abandoned (2016– ), Cyberwar (2016– ), Bong Appétit (2017– ), Rise (2017– ), Nirvanna the Band the Show (2016– ) and Dead Set on Life (2016– ). Apart from documentaries he has also produced movies like White Lightnin' (2009), The Fourth Dimension (2012), Fishing Without Nets (2014) and The Bad Batch (2016).
