Shanmugarajan is a Tamil cinema actor who was introduced to the movie industry by Kamal Haasan in 2004 with the action drama movie Virumaandi. In the same year, he played the role of a police officer in Madhurey, and then featured in several films like Sivappathigaram, Sandakozhi, Anniyan, Mariyadhai and Quick Gun Murugun. He featured in the super hit movie Sivaji as the police inspector who supports Rajinikanth's rival in the film. His other notable appearances include that of a local underworld don in the Dhanush starrer gangster comedy film Maari (2015), followed by the Vijay starrer Bairavaa (2017) as the antagonist's advocate. Along with movies like Vanamagan and Pandigai, one of his other ventures in 2017 includes the comedy film Server Sundaram, which features Santhanam in the lead role along with Vaibhavi Shandilya, under the direction of Anand Balki.
