Indian actor and director Shashank Udapurkar was first seen in the 2011 Marathi comedy Dhava Dhav, which he not only acted in but also directed and wrote the story of. After this, he was cast in the 2014 history drama Sambhaji 1689, which revolved around the life of the Marathi King Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. After being a part of the 2014 movie Badlapur Boys, Shashank was seen in the 2016 biopic drama Anna, which he completed writing about in three years. For his portrayal of Kisan Baburao Hazare aka Anna Hazare, Shashank had to start preparing eight months prior to the movie`s release. The movie also co-stars Tanishaa Mukerji, Sharat Saxena, Govind Namdev and Prawaas.
