Shashikumar, an Indian film actor, is primarily associated with Kannada film industry. The actor marked his debut in the film industry with the Chiranjeevi Sudhakara, where he was praised for portraying the villain of the film. He, then, acted in Kannada films such as Yuddha Kaanda, Indrajith, C.B.I. Shankar and Mruthyunjaya. The film that pushed him into stardom was the 1989 film Rani Maharani, after which he gave several hit films such as Policena Hendthi, S. P. Sangliyana Part 2, Readymade Ganda, Kollur Kala, Kitturina Huli. The actor was also the part of the films like Kempaiah IPS, Mutthanna, Swathi, Baasha, and Snehaloka before he suffered a road accident.

After a long break, Shashi made his comeback in the films such as Yajamana, Habba, and Yaarige Saluthe Sambala. His other film credits include Masti, Bandhu Balaga, Take It Easy, Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna, Galaate, Power, Shivayogi Sri Puttayyajja and Buckaasuura. In addition, Shashikumar is also a politician. He was a member of the Lok Sabha and Indian National Congress. His 2019 releases include Lock and Kurukshetra.
