The other half of Bollywood`s most popular musical duo Vishal-Shekhar, Shekhar Ravjiani is a music composer and singer, who has been a part of the industry since 1999. Born and raised in Mumbai, Shekhar initially took to advertising but eventually decided to follow his passion for music and participated in SaReGaMaPa in 1997. A trained classical singer, Shekhar joined hands with Vishal Dadlani in 1999 and the two together have been responsible for some of Bollywood`s best music in recent times.
Having started his musical journey, Shekhar`s first movie credit came with the romantic movie Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi in 1999, following which he, along with Vishal, has composed the music for innumerable movies such as Jhankaar Beats, Shabd, Dus, Bluffmaster, Golmaal, Om Shanti Om, I Hate Luv Storys, Break ke Baad, Student of the Year, Balak Palak, Chennai Express, Sultan, and Befikre among many others.
Apart from being a composer and singer, Shekhar is also a reality show judge and has been associated with shows like SaReGaMaPa for two of its editions and as is also one of the judges on The Voice Kids India. In 2016, he also made his acting debut with the Sonam Kapoor-starrer biographical drama
Neerja. His 2018 projects include
