An actor, director and psychiatrist, Dr. Shekhar Seshadri is an active and ardent Boal practitioner who uses Forum Theatre for mental health preventive-promotive life skills work with children and adolescents, both in the clinic as well as the community (schools and child care institutions).

The Joker System has been Dr. Seshadris major body of work. He uses the seven components of the Joker System (Dedication, Explanation, Scene, Episode, Interview, Commentary and Exhortation) to debate and expand on a given theme relevant to the group/agency that he is working with. Most often, this culminates in a workshop production. Over the years, Dr. Seshadri has done many such productions, of 30-60 minutes. His relationship with theatre is based on a deep conviction about its use in social transformations and thus a passion for praxis.
