Chinese actress and singer Shengyi Huang first rose to prominence when she starred in the immensely popular action-comedy Kung Fu Hustle in 2004. The film, which turned out to be China's top grossing movie of the year, earned Huang a Hong Kong Film Awards nomination for Best New Artist. Since then, she has appeared in over a dozen movies and numerous tv shows, notable among which are the American sci-fi adventure thriller Race to Witch Mountain (2009), the Chinese romantic comedy A Singing Fairy (2009) and the Hong Kong-Chinese action comedy Iceman 2014).
Parallel to her acting career, Huang has also enjoyed great popularity as a singer, having released a number of singles and well-received albums like Tattoo of Love (2007) and Choosing Love Everyday (2009). Other significant acting credits include The Shadow of Empress Wu (2008), The Marriage Rules (2013), Iceman 2 (2018) and Air Strike (2018).
