Known for making independent films and portraying offbeat stories, Shoojit Sircar is an Indian film director and producer who has worked on Hindi and Bengali movies. He made his debut in 2005 with Yahaan, a love story set against the background of the Kashmiri conflict. Over the years he has been critically acclaimed for his works that tackled unconventional themes, including Vicky Donor (2010), Madras Cafe (2013) and Piku (2015). He has also made several television commercials for Saffola, Apsara Pencils, Cadbury, Maruti WagonR, Dove, Fair & Lovely, Zomato, and many other brands. His 2020 releases include Gulabo Sitabo.
