A former student at the VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, Shravya Rao took to acting at a very tender age, making her first appearance on screen when she was in the fourth standard. As a child artist, she was first seen in the 2002 Telugu comedy Sandade Sandadi, following which she was seen in the Allu Arjun-starrer Arya in 2004.

Daughter of known Kannada director and producer Om Prakash Rao, Shravya made her debut as a lead actress in 2014 with the romantic drama Love You Bangaram and was cast alongside Rahul Haridas. Making her Tamil movie debut, she was seen in the 2016 drama thriller Vellikizhamai 13am Thethi, which also featured Rathan Mouli and Suza Kumar in pivotal roles. Among her other movie credits are Pagiri, Nandini Nursing Home, and Vanavillu.

In 2018, she appeared alongside Tanush Shivanna and Shravya Rao in Rajendra Karanth`s Kannada comedy Nanjundi Kalyana. Her 2019 release includes Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya.
