Shubha Punja started in the industry as a model and took part in a beauty pageant where she won the Miss Chennai-Top Model 2003. Subsequently, she was approached for her debut film Machi in 2003 and moved on to do Tamil films Thirudiya Idhayathai (2005) and Shanmuga (2005). However, her films did not do very well at the box office and failed to win the masses. She then took on various Kannada films beginning with the 2006 film Jackpot and there was no looking back. Her notable works include Moggina Manasu (2008), Slum Bala (2008), Thakath (2009), Naari Adda (2010), Golmaal (2012), and Meenakshi before she worked on Raja Loves Radhe (2018).
