Sidney Gilliat (Gilliat) is a film screenwriter, producer and director, born on 15 February, 1908 in Cheshire. He has worked in more than 100 films in Hollywood industry. He began his screen-writing career in the year 1928, after that, he has written most notably with Frank Launder. Along with him, he made their directorial debut with the film Millions Like Us and made over 40 films together. He has also written, directed and produced the film The Rake's Progress. He died at age of 86, on May 31, 1994 in Wiltshire, England, UK.
