Sitara Devi also known as Dhanalakshmiwas an Indian Kathak dancer, choreographer and actor born on November 8,1920 in Kolkata, West Bengal (India). She made her Bollywood debut with the movie Watan (1938). Devi was Honored with Padma Shree award in 1973 and awarded for performing at the Royal Albert and Victoria Hall in 1967 and for prestigious Carnegie Hall, New York in 1976.She passed away on November 25, 2014, Mumbai.
