American actor Skylan Brooks is best-remembered for his portrayal of Mister in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (2013), for which he was nominated for Young Artist Award in Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film. He started his acting career as a child and appeared in quite a few television series like iCarly (2009) and Children's Hospital (2011). Later, he was also various short films, like Duck (2011), Reveille (2015), and Montford Point Marines Honor (2015).

Before his breakthrough role in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (2013), Brooks has also played supporting roles in films like Seven Pounds (2008), Our Family Wedding (2010), A Beautiful Soul (2012) and General Education (2012). He has also acted in the boxing drama Southpaw (2015) with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor's other projects include Netflix Original Series The Get Down (2016) and The Darkest Minds (2018).
