Vasudev Gangaram Bhatkar, also known as Snehal Bhatkar, was a well-known Indian film composer who primarily worked in the Hindi and Marathi film industry. He was regarded as one of the pioneers of the music composing in Indian cinema. Snehal is best known for films like Aaj Ki Baat (1955), Bindiya (1955), and Hamari Yaad Aayegi (1961). He started his movie career with the movie Neel Kamal in the year 1947. Bhatkar and lyricist Kidar Nath Sharma had shared a special bond and teamed up for various hits throughout his career. He was the recipient of the Lata Mangeshkar Award instituted by the Government of Maharashtra in 2004.
