Sohail Hashmi is one of the founding trustees of SAHMAT (The Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust). He has worked with PTI TV, National Literacy Mission, Home TV, BiTV and Kingfisher.com. He has been the Director of ''Leap Years'', a creative activity centre for children. Sohail makes documentaries, writes and blogs on issues of Culture, Language, Education and Communalism. He has conceptualised, researched, scripted and produced documentaries on Pioneers of Womens Education, lesser known freedom fighters and marginalised women. He enjoys travel, photography, food, cooking and loves to talk about all these things. Sohail conducts heritage walks in Delhi. He also writes about Delhi, its language, its food, its water bodies and its monuments.
