Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury is an Indian playback singer, who is primarily known for her work in the Bengali film industry. She has also lent her voice to some of the Tollywood film songs. Apart from singing, Somlata is also a guest lecturer of psychology at the Asutosh College in Kolkata. She made her debut as a playback singer in 2007 with Perfect Woman. Over the years, Somlata has sung for movies like Cross Connection (2009), Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona (2011), Seven Days (2011), Elar Char Adhyay (2012), Dutta Vs Dutta (2012), Bojhena Se Bojhena (2012), Bangla Naache Bhangra (2013), Antaraal (2013), Hercules (2014), Chotushkone (2014) Ek Phaali Rodh (2014), Bheetu (2015), Bela Sheshe (2015), Shudhu Tomari Jonyo (2015), Bitnoon (2015), Dhaka Attack (2017) and Kichu Na Bola Kotha (2017). Somlata has won several awards like ETV Dada na Didi : Gaaner Big Fight - Best Discovery Award, Star Jalsha Entertainment Awards - Agami Diner Star (2010), Anandalok Special Jury Award and Tele Cine Best Female Singer.
