Soorya Krishnamoorthy is a stage craft and Director. Founder-Director of the Soorya Stage and Film Society, he is also the Organiser for Soorya Festival, the longest and the most prestigious cultural event in India. He is a Pioneer in the Light and Sound shows his organisation is the largest cultural society of Asia.

Soorya Festival is the largest and the longest Festival of Asia. He conceptualized and started the Tourism Week Celebrations for the Govt. of Kerala in 1980 and the celebrations continue every year in the same design till date.

He served as the Director of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. Was also the Chairman for Asianet Film Awards. As per the Limca Book of World Records, Soorya Krishnamoorthy is 'Man of the Year', 2003.

Kalaimamani Award was presented to him for Stage Craft and Direction. He is selected as one in 101 world-renowned living Keralites of the millennium. Soorya Krishnamoorthy remains as the only artiste to have received the highest honor from three state governments: Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
