A veteran Indian actress, Sreelekha Mitra is noted for her work in Bengali cinema. Best remembered for her role in the 2006 film Kantatar directed by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay, Sreelekha is the winner of several prestigious awards including BFJA Award and Kalakar Award and Anandalok Award. Having made her debut on the silver screen with Hothat Bristi in 1998, over the years, Sreelekha has starred in more than 25 films. Some of her most notable film credits include Madhu Malati (1999), Gariber Sansar (2000), Mando Meyer Upakashan (2003), Ek Mutho Chhabi (2005), Hello Kolkata (2008), Bhoother Bhobishyot (2012), Chaar (2014) and Kichu Na Bola Kotha (2017), a Bengali drama directed by Sayan Basu Chowdhury. In 2018, she appeared alongside Soumitra Chatterjee and Ashish Vidyarthi in Milan Bhowmik`s Bengali drama Nirbhoya. Her other releases includes Bhalo Maye Kharap Maye (2019) and Borunbabur Bondhu (2020).
