Sruthi Hariharan is an Indian film actress who predominantly is known for her work in Kannada films. She started off as a theatre artist and worked as a background dancer in films before making her acting debut with the Malayalam movie Cinema Company in 2012. She then went on to gain prominence for her lead role in the 2013 Kannada psychological thriller film Lucia, under the direction of Pawan Kumar. Her performance in the role of a waitress got her nominated for the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debutant. She has featured in several movies like Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, Plus, and Madha Mathu Manasi. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in a leading role-Female (Critics) for her role of Dr. Sahana in Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, and Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress for the movie Beautiful Manasugalu. In 2017, she starred in the movies Happy New Year, Nibunan, and Urvi. Her other venture in the year includes the Tamil-Malayalam bilingual romantic thriller Solo, starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, under the direction of Bejoy Nambiar. Her other release includes Bhootayyana Mommaga Ayyu (2018) and Mane Maratakkide (2019) and Aadyaa (2020).
