About
A two-time Academy Award nominee for Best Film Editing, English film editor Stuart Baird's career spans over four decades. Contemporary movie aficionados know him best for editing the James Bond films Casino Royale (2006) and Skyfall (2012), while the previous generation of moviegoers are perhaps familiar with Baird's Oscar-nominated work in films like Superman (1978) and Gorillas in the Mist: The Story of Dian Fossey (1988).
Besides editing, Baird has also ventured into filmmaking and production. Since his directorial debut with the action thriller Executive Decision (1996), Baird has helmed two more films: the crime-thriller U.S. Marshals (1998) and the sci-fi movie Star Trek: Nemesis (2002). Other significant editorial credits include the buddy cop action thriller Lethal Weapon (1987), the action film Die Hard 2 (1990), the political thriller Edge of Darkness (2010) and the action-adventure film Tomb Raider (2018).
