Suresh Hebilkar is a Kannada filmmaker director, actor and a renowned environmentalist who founded the Eco-Watch NGO in 1998. The director who is known to have made films that have offbeat themes as well as movies that depict nature and conservation. The winner of National Film Award for his directorial venture Kaadina Benki, Suresh made his debut in the film industry as an actor with Kankana (1975). The actor turned director`s maiden directorial venture was Ecology of the Western Ghats (1984), a documentary film. His feature film as a director was Aaganthuka (1987), a thriller starring himself, Vanitha Vasu and Devaraj. Few of his other popular films as an actor includes Thai Saheba (1999), Chamundi (2000), Care of Footpath (2006), Mylari (2010), Liftman (2017) directed by Shreedhar and Birbal Trilogy (2019).
