Malayalam film actor Krishna Shankar made his debut in 2013 comedy-thriller Neram, which also marked Alphonse Puthren's directorial debut. Following his debut, he went on to appear in Alphonse's next venture Premam, where he played the role of Koya, which won him widespread recognition. The same year, in 2015, he made his Hindi film debut, appearing alongside Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah in the drama Waiting, following which he was seen in movies such as Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti, Marubhoomiyile Aana, Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, Aadhi, and Thobama. His 2020 release includes Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoothi and Maniyarayile Ashokan. In 2021, he appeared in the comedy-drama film Mohan Kumar Fans, directed by Jis Joy.
