Swapna Dutt is the sister of Priyanka Dutt, and the founder of Vyjayanthi Televentures Pvt.Ltd in 2008, which changed the face of the Telugu television industry. Hailing from a film background she started off by assisting her father in movie production under the Vyjayanthi Movies but wanted to create her own path in the media industry. In 2014, she launched Swapna Cinema and co-produced Yevade Subramanyam with her sister Priyanka Dutt which received a lot of critical acclaim as well as commercial success. She has produced the 2018 Telugu biography Mahanati directed by Ashwin Nag.
