T. R. Mahalingam was a Tamil actor, music composer and singer. He was famous for his melodious songs generally based on romantic or devotional themes. He used to sing and take part in the drama at an early age, which helped him in entering the cine field. He debuted with Nandakumar at the age of 14. He is remembered for his work in movies like Sri Valli, Chinna Durai, Thiruvilayadal and Agathiyar.
